Bring the Pro Cinematic HDR experience: Native 4K SXRD home cinema laser projectors (2,700lm) with XR Processor.
Cinema is coming home
Step up to a new generation of immersive cinematic experiences with our latest native 4K laser projectors. BRAVIA Projector 8 elevates home entertainment to the next level, drawing on cutting-edge picture processing technologies by Sony that harness cognitive intelligence for the most realistic, emotion packed images yet.
Wide dynamic range with richer, more subtle graduations
The latest XR processor for projector draws on Sony’s acclaimed BRAVIA TV technologies, harnessing advanced data processing for real-time optimisation of individual on-screen objects. You’ll be rewarded with stunning 4K HDR images with contrast and realism that are unattainable with previous-generation home cinema projectors.
XR Dynamic Tone Mapping
Peak brightness is analysed frame by frame: tone mapping ensures that direct sunlight and other bright highlights are faithfully reproduced, while retaining fine detail in dark showdow areas.
XR Deep Black
Laser dimming is accurately controlled in dark scenes like night skies, delivering deeper, richer blacks while maintaining tone and colour accuracy.
A billion bright, beautiful colours
High brightness is combined with XR Triluminos Pro technology, achieving over 95% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space. Faithful reproduction of over a billion colours reveals the subtlest variations in saturation and hue.
XR Triluminos Pro
XR Triluminos Pro brings over a billion colours. Combine this with high brightness to expand colour volume and fine detail.
Wide colour gamut and High brightness
This, combined with high brightness and expanded colour volume, delivers outstanding colour expression.
Achieve ultimate clarity
XR Clear Image processing analyzes individual objects frame-by-frame, upscales all your favourite content to near-4K resolution and minimises picture noise. The results are so real – it’s almost unreal!
Individually clear
Image cross-analysis ensures that optimal super-resolution processing is applied to individual objects within each scene, for incredibly natural textures.
Intelligent upscaling
Lower-resolution images are upscaled close to 4K, drawing on a vast pattern-matching database that intelligently reconstructs lost texture and detail.
More beauty, less noise
Thanks to powerful XR Clear Image processing, picture noise is minimised through zone division and dynamic frame analysis.
Brilliant pictures powered by innovative technology
Combining the brightness of our powerful laser light source with the game-changing XR processor for projctor delivers a uniquely immersive native 4K HDR home cinema experience.
Image cross-analysis
Image parameters including colour, definition and contrast are analysed and processed in parallel, providing more natural artefact-free images.
Depth mapping
Depth and texture are enhanced by cognitive technology, accentuating foreground subjects for images that look more real and natural.
Focal point recognition
The natural focal point of the picture is enhanced, drawing the viewer’s eye to the most important part of the scene.
Crystal clarity with Advanced Crisp-Focused (ACF) Lens
Our Advanced Crisp-Focused Lens features a 70mm aspherical front lens element that widens the focus area, ensuring crystal clear images from corner to corner. The floating focus system uses two moving lens groups and extra-low dispersion glass for distortion-free images with accurate colour reproduction.
Smooth, responsive gameplay
Get even more big-screen gaming excitement with the latest fast-paced titles. Everything’s super-smooth, supple and responsive, giving you that crucial competitive edge when split-second reactions count for everything.
High frame rate, high resolution
Don’t miss a moment with sports and adrenalin-packed first person video games. Support for 4K 120fps ensures smoothly rendered gameplay that makes on-screen action even more real.
Reduced input lag
Connect a compatible games console via HDMI 2.1 and the projector switches to Auto Low Latency Mode for responsive, fast-paced gaming excitement with reduced input latency.
Easy installation and set-up
Light and compact
Lighter and more compact than most native 4K home cinema projectors, the BRAVIA Projector 8 simplifies ceiling-mounted installation.
Ready for action
Out-of-the-box picture settings including colour and gamma are fine-tuned for home cinema watching, saving time on fiddly adjustments during installation.
Great in any space
Lens shift and keystone correction ensure perfectly-proportioned pictures, even in smaller rooms with high ceilings and limited depth.
Seamless integration with home automation systems
BRAVIA Projector 8 is right at the centre of your connected home entertainment world. They’re certified for compatibility with leading automation protocols such as Control4, Crestron, Savant and AMX, as well as remote maintenance services including OvrC and Domotz.
Entertainment that’s more environmentally friendly
Enjoying great home entertainment doesn’t have to mean compromising on sustainability. BRAVIA Projector 7 features advanced technologies that save energy and lessen overall impact on the environment.
Enhanced power efficiency
XR Deep Black technology precisely controls laser output frame by frame, reducing power consumption in dark scenes to improve energy efficiency.
Mercury free
The energy-efficient laser light source doesn’t contain any mercury, making our projectors kinder on the environment at every stage of their lifecycle, from production to recycling.
