Recycled is the new premium
While you’ll love the lightweight, compact chassis, the recycled materials that comprise this device are the main attraction. The ThinkPad X13 Gen 4 laptop features 90% recycled magnesium on the keyboard frames, with an additional 50% recycled aluminum on the Storm Grey models. Both models boast 55% recycled aluminum on the bottom covers, and post-consumer recycled plastic enclosures for the speakers, battery, AC adapter, antenna / cable holder, and backlit keycaps. What’s more, the manufacturing process of multiple components uses low-temp soldering for reduced emissions.

Reliable as the day is long
We use the US Department of Defense's MIL-STD 810H standards to create a balance of reliability and durability for our ThinkPad laptops. We test against 12 standards, 26 procedures, and 200 additional quality checks to ensure they run in extreme conditions. These tests cover harsh variables like Arctic wilderness and desert dust storms, including temperature, pressure, humidity, vibration, and more.
