Superior image quality

AXIS Q1728-LE offers 8 MP at 60 fps and features a large 1/1.2" sensor for consistent low-light performance. Lightfinder 2.0 and Forensic WDR provide true colors and great forensic detail in challenging light or near darkness. Axis Zipstream with support for AV1, H.264, and H.265 significantly lowers bandwidth and storage requirements. Available in two variants with a choice of lenses: a wide (6-13 mm) lens with a 76°-32° horizontal field of view for surveillance in wide, open areas, and a tele (15-48 mm) lens with a 30°-40° horizontal field of view for great details at long distances. Plus, the built-in lens with remote zoom and focus is perfectly calibrated to save you time and effort.

For harsh, outdoor environments

Ideal for any outdoor location, AXIS Q1728-LE comes with a built-in wiper and front window with carbon nanotube film heater to guarantee great images even in snow, rain, ice, and fog. It can operate in temperatures from -40 °C to 60 °C (-40 °F to 140 °F). This future-proof camera has a standardized enclosure design that can be reused with any Axis block camera. This makes it a more efficient and environmentally friendly option and ensures you get the full value from your investment. What’s more, the front glass is IK08-rated, and the enclosure is IK10-, NEMA 4X-, NEMA TS-2-, IP66-, and IP67-rated to withstand harsh weather conditions and impacts.

ARTPEC-9 refines the remarkable features and capabilities that characterized previous generations of our in-house-designed SoC: low bitrate, AI-powered analytics, superior imaging, and built-in cybersecurity. It also introduces AV1, an open-source video encoding standard from the Alliance for Open Media. With support for AV1 and enhanced image processing, ARTPEC-9 delivers high-quality video with uncompromised detail and clarity, and best-in-class bitrate. Together with Axis Zipstream, AV1 also ensures hassle-free video both on-prem and in the cloud. What’s more, ARTPEC-9 powers advanced analytics applications that detect objects earlier and analyze events more precisely.

Powerful with strong security

Featuring a deep learning processing unit (DLPU), this AI-based camera lets you run advanced features and powerful analytics on the edge. It comes with AXIS Object Analytics preinstalled to detect, classify, track, and count humans, vehicles, and types of vehicles. With AXIS Image Health Analytics preinstalled, you’ll be notified if your image is blocked, degraded, under exposed, or redirected. Furthermore, Axis Edge Vault, a hardware-based cybersecurity platform, safeguards the device and offers FIPS 140-3 Level 3 certified secure key storage and operations.
